W. Rogers Co. is the Successful Bidder for the New Pitman Creek WWTP

Somerset, KY | June 26, 2009

W. Rogers Company finished the month of June with a successful bid to build the new Pitman Creek wastewater treatment facility in Somerset, KY.

W. Rogers Co. submitted a bid of $12,687,000. The 11 bids submitted to the Somerset City Council ranged from $12.6 to just below $16 million.

“With the economy the way it is, we were very fortunate to be able to do this project within the amount of money (that W. Rogers Company bid),” said Mayor Eddie Girdler, who also thanked the city council members for their work on the project over the last few years. “This will be a great addition to Somerset.”

The expanded treatment facility is expected to meet the wastewater needs of Pulaski County for the next 20 years. The project will also continue to protect Lake Cumberland environment. This expansion will increase the existing plant’s capacity from 3 million gallons per day to 4.4 million gallons per day.

The project is projected to begin about September 1st and should be complete in approximately 20 months with final completion occurring at the end of 2010.
