Lexington, Ky.-The Associated General Contractors of Kentucky (AGC) hosted the 21st Annual Build Kentucky Awards on Friday, February 26th in Lexington, Ky. AGC recognized the outstanding projects performed by W. Rogers Company and other members of AGC in 2010.
The Build Kentucky Award is the state's most prestigious recognition for a construction project and is given to projects demonstrating innovation in construction techniques, state-of-the-art advancement, community improvement, project management, and environmental sensitivity. The general contractor, project owner, architect and AGC subcontractors are honored with each project.
W. Rogers Company, on behalf of Reynolds-Rogers LLC., Kentucky American Water and Gannett Fleming, Inc. received a Build Kentucky Award for their work on the Kentucky River Station II at Hardin's Landing. This water treatment plant was the only municipal and utilities project to receive a Build Kentucky Award this year, and only one of two projects over $61 million.
"The team of Reynolds-Rogers, Kentucky-American Water and Gannett-Fleming overcame significant challenges to deliver this project in time for the World Equestrian Games and solved the water supply issue in Central Kentucky for our lifetimes," said Warren Rogers, President of W. Rogers Co.
This new water treatment plant at Hardin's Landing serves as a milestone for Central Kentucky and Kentucky American Water. It is the long awaited solution to the water supply deficit that has plagued Central Kentucky for more than 20 years.
